We are now hiring for the Fall 2023 Season: Program Staff and Program Coordinators!

Program Staff
In our Fall and Winter seasons, Program Staff are called Outdoor Educators. Outdoor Educators are responsible for facilitating programs and ensuring the safety of our client groups, including schools, youth groups, Guides, and Scouts. Programs for these clients feature a wide range of outdoor activities.
Our organizational culture is cooperative, welcoming and carries a strong
commitment to mentoring and professional development. Camp Warwa will provide all necessary training at the beginning of each season, as well as additional training opportunities throughout the year.
Program Staff are also invited to participate in a weekend leadership program in the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons to help them grow and develop as outdoor professionals. Program Staff report to our Program Coordinators.
Responsibilities and Duties
Core responsibilities of Program Staff include:
- Supervision and care of clients
- Attending camp-provided training to learn how to facilitate our programs
- Safely facilitating a wide range of outdoor programs
- Performing various camp facility support tasks such as helping with cleaning and program setup
- Working as part of a team
Qualifications and Skills
Program Staff will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of children. They will be role models who possess integrity, communication skills and value both community and nature.
- A Criminal Reference Check and Standard First Aid with CPR-C are required.
- Program Staff must have completed grade 12.
- Education or experience working with children or in outdoor pursuits/recreation are assets.
- Experience in any of the specific programs that Camp Warwa offers is also an asset, including Canoeing, Ropes Courses, Camping/Bushcraft, Hiking, Horseback Riding or being a D&D Dungeon Master.
Salary and Benefits
Salary of $100-$115/day plus on-site room and board, and access to Wi-Fi and laundry. Accommodation is provided in a shared room in our Staff Accommodations for the Spring & Fall Seasons. Average of 5 days per week.

Fall Season: Aug 30 – November 10 (Start/End dates subject to change)
Program Coordinator
Program Coordinators are members of our Leadership Team. Their primary roles are to lead the Program Staff Team and manage programs. In our peak spring and summer seasons, four Program Coordinators work together collaboratively. In the fall and winter seasons, there may be one or two Program Coordinators.
Camp Warwa is led by a collaborative leadership community. Leadership Team members are empowered to bring their unique vision to their responsibilities and to freely communicate with all other members of the team. Our organizational culture is cooperative, welcoming and carries a strong commitment to mentoring and professional development.
Responsibilities and Duties
The core responsibilities of Program Coordinators include:
- Preparing and organizing programs
- Assisting in hiring Program Staff and Junior Counsellors (Spring/Summer)
- Providing leadership, training, and support for the Program Staff and Junior Counsellors
- Hold specific community-level responsibilities; Program Supplies & Equipment Management, Program Schedule Coordination, Staff Appreciation, and Leading Traditions.
Program Coordinator positions are seasonal, full-time. They are live on-site positions and workdays reflect program days. Most tasks are around-site leadership and communication, with some office work as needed.
Program Coordinators report to our Operations Manager. They may work with other leadership team members as needed. They oversee the Program Staff team.
Qualifications and Skills
Program Coordinators will have leadership experience and will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of children. They will have experience in the outdoor education or summer camp industry or be currently enrolled in a related program of study. Program Coordinators will be role models who possess integrity, communication skills and who value both community and nature.

- A valid driver’s license is an asset.
Salary and Benefits
Salary of $140-$155/day plus on-site room and board, and access to Wi-Fi and laundry. Accommodation is provided in a shared room in our Coordinator Lodge which contains a shared kitchen, common area and bathroom. Average of five days per week.
